This entire collection is a love letter to Mrs. Beyah. Every fabric choice, every stitch, every photograph carries the imprint of her teachings. It was through Mrs. Beyah that I discovered myself not only as a designer, but as a human being learning to stand firmly in authenticity. In just three semesters, Mrs. Beyah became a grandmother in spirit, a mentor in craft, and a quiet, steady light during some of my darkest years.
The color palette honors Mrs. Beyah’s Alpha Kappa Alpha lineage, the PHirst sorority of the Divine 9, just as Mrs. Beyah was the first to see my potential. The hijab and silhouettes reflect her Muslim grace, the way she merges modesty and modernity with effortless elegance. Even the unedited photographs echo her “professional authenticity,” teaching me that truth is its own beauty.
This debut collection exists because Mrs. Beyah existed for me.
